Dear colleagues, dear friends!

On January 25, 1941, the Leningrad Aviation Institute (LAI) was founded, later – the Leningrad Aviation Instrument Engineering Institute (LIAP), Saint Petersburg State Academy of Aerospace Instrumentation (SAAI), and the St. Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation (SUAI).

Our university is 80 years old since its foundation.

Over the years, our university has passed a difficult and glorious path, preserving its scientific potential in the crucial nineties of the twentieth century and significantly increasing the ability to respond in a timely manner to all the challenges of our time in the twenty-first century.

SUAI remains one of the leading universities in Russia and – I believe – looks confidently into the future, despite the fact that even possible scenarios for this future are sometimes difficult to predict.
