November 14, 2018 St. Petersburg hosted the 5th Association of Rectors of Transport Universities of Russia and China Forum within the Betancourt International Engineering Forum.

SUAI, an active partner of international transportation universities, was represented by its Vice-Rector for International Affairs Konstantin V. Losev. A member of BRAIA Initiative, SUAI cooperates with leading Chinese universities in developing navigation systems, transport infrastructure and projecting a high-speed railway.

The session opened with the Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina I. Matviyenko’s letter to the participants, read by the Rector of the St. Petersburg State transport University Alexander Yu. Panychev.

The Forum heard the speeches by the General Secretary of the Chinese People’s Society for International Friendship Li Xikuai, the President of the Eurasia international corporation Feng Yaou and the Council for Chinese Education in St. Petersburg Sun Lailin.

In the Forum Russian and Chinese university leaders shared experience in science and research to define upcoming challenges.

The next Association of Rectors of Transport Universities of Russia and China Forum will be held at the Beijing Union University October 2019.
